Summer Solstice 2026

Illumination marked the Summer Solstice through coffee, reflection, and shared presence.

Inspired by the three-part rhythm of the Ethiopian coffee tradition, the experience unfolded through three UMOYA pours: Presence. Illumination. Clarity.

Each pour asked something different of the room. To arrive. To notice what was being revealed. And to leave with a clearer sense of what comes next.

UNDERSTAND THE PRACTICE

Three pours.

PresenceBe where you are.
The first pour asked guests to arrive fully.

Before interpretation. Before the next task. Before moving forward.

Presence began with a simple question: what does this moment feel like when you stop long enough to notice it?
IlluminationNotice what is becoming visible.
The second pour turned attention toward revelation.

What has the season been showing you? What has been growing quietly? What can you see now that you could not see before?

Illumination was not about finding every answer. It was about paying attention to what had already begun to appear.
ClarityCarry the insight forward.
The final pour asked guests to consider what remained after reflection.

Not everything needs to follow you into the next season.

Clarity is the ability to recognize what matters, name it, and move with intention.
A NOTE ON THE PRACTICE

Illumination drew inspiration from the ritual intelligence of the Ethiopian coffee ceremony, a tradition in which coffee is shared through successive servings and used as a space for hospitality, conversation, and community. UMOYA's Presence, Illumination, and Clarity sequence was our own seasonal interpretation, not a reproduction of the traditional ceremony.
